Scholarship Committee

The purpose of the Scholarship Committee is to solicit applications and identify/award scholarships. Identify and create events/opportunities to provide funding to the IRSA Scholarship Fund

Primary responsibilities are as follows:

• Review the current scholarship information and application forms, making recommendations for revisions as necessary
• Distribute applications to institutional and state members
• Work with the IRSA Vice President to market and publicize the program
• Coordinate the review and selection process
• Work with the IRSA Vice President to provide recognition for the scholarship recipients
• Collaborate with committee members to identify and announce winners prior to the workshop
• Work with the IRSA Treasurer to determine the award amounts and ensure reimbursement to the recipients.

The Scholarship Chair should:

• Be a professional member of NIRSA and IRSA in good standing
• Be available to attend the IRSA State Workshop or delegate accordingly to ensure no lapse of responsibilities
• Have previous experience in coordinating and managing budgets•Demonstrate exceptional organizational and leadership skills
